What is Companion Care?

Companion care provides emotional support, friendship, and socialization. 

Activities for home care companions include, but are not limited to:

• Conversation provides mental stimulation 
• Playing games and/or listening to music can enhance friendship
• Meal prep for breakfast, lunch or dinner allows time to chat
• Light activities, such as taking a scroll or ROM exercise
• Laundry and light housekeeping
• Grocery shopping and errands
• Transportation to/from appointments and social events
• Reminders for personal care and grooming
• Medication reminders

Seniors who stay socially engaged enjoy improved quality of life. Our caregivers provide seniors with conversation, mealtime companionship and camaraderie doing their favorite activities.

Personal Care

What is Personal Care?

Personal care is a broad term that supports basic personal hygiene and activities of daily living, including dressing, grooming, and toileting. Karolinas Home Care caregivers provide assistance with the personal care needs depending on each client’s individual care plan.

Seniors who live independently at home, but find that daily activities and tasks present difficulty as they age, our experienced caregivers can assist with personal care such as bathing, mobility assistance, grooming and more.

Personal care includes position changes for clients that are bedbound and specialized care for those with memory issues or cognitive impairments, fall risk and change in condition monitoring.

In addition to serving clients in Mecklenburg County, NC, we also provide in-home/personal care services in Union County, Caldwell County, Gaston County, Catawba County, Davidson County, Iredell County, Rowan County, Stanly County, Cleveland County, Guilford County, Anson County, Cabarrus County and Lincoln County in North Carolina
